nice to meet you!

Oh the joys of technology! Our daughter Tessa is in Florida studying with Youth with a Mission (YWAM) so of course she wasn't here when little Morgan was born. No problem--we set up the computer right there in the hospital room and skyped her so she could "meet" her new niece. Check out the look of sheer joy on Tessa's face (see inset on computer screen in photo) when she saw the baby for the first time!

I am a Nana. This is one of the few times in my life that words fail me...many of my friends who have already experienced this joy have tried to tell me what it's like to welcome that first grandchild into the world. But surely they can't be as smitten as I am!

Baby Morgan Belle arrived two days early on November 20, 2009. She came in the form of 7 lb. 12 oz. of sheer joy! I get butterflies thinking about her, and I miss her the second I leave my daughter and son-in-law's home, even after being there all night and all day. I go to bed thinking about Morgan and wake up wondering how she did overnight. My favorite part so far has been bathing her. I wish someone could bottle the smell of a freshly bathed baby!
